Nicolas Baverez is an economist and historian, and is a columnist for the weekly magazine Le Point and the daily newspaper Le Figaro. He is a regular guest on national TV – on the TF1 program Club de l’économie – and on national radio (France Culture). He sits on the executive committees of Commentaire magazine and of the Institut Montaigne think tank.02
Born in Lyon in 1961, he holds a doctorate in history and a teaching qualificaiton in social sciences. From 1993 to 1995 he was a member of the private office of Philippe Séguin (President of the National Assembly at the time), with responsibilities for economic and social issues.

He is also the author of a biography, Raymond Aron, un moraliste au temps des idéologies (Raymond Aron, A Moralist In A Time Of Ideologies) (Flammarion, 1993).
